Impermanence (InFiné)

Biography : From the talented co-founder of the InFiné label comes an album in which overtones of Detroit techno, jazz and soul merge to create an ethereal atmosphere.

Agoria, alias Sébastien Devaud, has established himself as one of the most promising young artistes in France. In 2000 he was the first DJ-producer to receive funding from the F.A.I.R (a French support fund for new acts) and signed a publishing contract with peermusic. Since 2002 he has created a series of 12-inch singles that have garnered rave reviews. In February 2003, the rapturous acclaim generated by his work saw Agoria hailed as one of the rising stars of techno, a star whose appeal now extended outside France.
The adventurous spirit that drives Agoria’s sallies into French electronic culture paid off in full in the middle of the 2000s, when he reached the top of the hit parade of France’s favourite DJs! On record, his skills can be enjoyed either in his capacity as a producer (the excellent album Blossom, which includes a guest vocal from Tricky) or on his DJ mix albums. Cute & Cult, a compilation released in 2005, is a striking blend of techno, electro and rock that demonstrates the full extent of his talent.
He is a permanent member of the team behind the Nuits Sonores festival in Lyon – a long, vibrant weekend during which the entire town comes alive to the pulse of electronic music. He also shared the title Best DJ of 2005, as voted for by the readers of “Trax”, with Laurent Garnier.
In 2006 he co-founded the InFiné label and released his 2nd album, The Green Armchair, and in 2008 he created the soundtrack for the film Go Fast. Today, he remains one of the most influential figures on the French electronic music scene.
