カニエ・ウェスト率いるレーベルGOODからデビューを果たしたKID CUDI。世界中で成功を収めたシングル“Day’n’Nite”を収録した1stアルバム“Man on the Moon: The End of Day”の続編ともいえる作品« Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager »。

Biography : Scott Mescudi was born on 30 January 1984 to a Mexican-Native American father and an Afro-American mother. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. His father died of cancer when he was just 11, an event that would have a significant influence on Kid Cudi’s music.

At the age of 15 he made his first recording on a karaoke machine, a freestyle number on the title “It’s Yourz” by The Wu-Tang Clan. After many shows in small American clubs, Kid Cudi decided to record a mixtape. A Kid Named Cudi was released in early 2008 in collaboration with New York street wear brand 10.Deep.
The mixtape came to the attention of Kanye West, one of American rap’s top producers, who signed Cudi to his GOOD Music label. Various TV appearances followed for the rapper, notably alongside Travis Barker and DJ AM. At the end of 2008, Kid Cudi helped out on Kanye West’s album 808s & Heartbreak, co-writing a few tracks and duetting with the acclaimed producer on one, “Welcome To Heartbreak” – a song that spent a few days in the American Top 100 despite never actually being released as a single. The same period saw the release of his first single, “Day’n’Nite”, which promptly entered the Top 50 in America, Belgium, Ireland, the UK and Holland. The track enjoyed considerable success on radio stations all over the world and was the first extract from his debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day, released in 2009. November 2010 saw the release of his follow-up album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager.
