Even amid an abundance of novelty, This Is The Hello Monster! really stands out: a sort of patchwork folk in which synths, machines and toys intermingle – all topped off with a brittle, delicate voice.
BIO
Influenced by contemporary artists such as Chris Garneau or Anthony and the Johnsons, and by the sonic experiments of Grizzly Bear, This is the Hello Monster! has been developing a unique duo concert format including piano, synths, machines and toys and drums, one that marries lo-fi sounds with an emotion-laden, late-night voice and cinematic vistas that evoke an old, smoke-filled club.
This Is The Hello Monster! – what does it signify? The north wind, a fantastical beast, the tranquil profundity of a Brian Eno, a unicorn and the black lion, a zombie slumbering inside a synthesizer, or the song sung by the palm trees on a model of tropical volcano.
